Highlights of Lake Omaha in Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Highlights of Lake Omaha
in Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Cherokee Village, Arkansas has seven private lakes that offer plenty of outdoor recreation.
One of the seven is Lake Omaha. The highlights of this lake are:
* 139 acres
* 4.7 miles of shoreline
* Maximum depth 40 feet
*Boating, water-skiing, tubing, fishing, swimming, and canoeing allowed
* Full service marina
* The second largest lake in Cherokee Village
Lake Omaha is the second largest lake in Cherokee Village. It is in the Fulton County side of Cherokee Village. Lake Omaha boasts some of the newest and largest homes in all of the village.
Lake Omaha is one of the two lakes where water skiing and tubing is allowed in the village. There is never alot of boat traffic on the lake, therefore it is a favorite of water skiers who are looking for that perfect "glass" water to ski on.
Lake Omaha almost feels like a private lake inside a community of already private lakes. Due to its location on the western side of the village, it is not used as much as Lake Thunderbird and Lake Sequoyah is by the Cherokee Village residents and their guests. When you are on the lake, you generally have more privacy most days which gives you that "we have the lake to ourselves" feeling.

All of the lakes in Cherokee Village are operated by the Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (SID) for the use and enjoyment of property owners and their guests. Lake Patrol officers monitor the lakes to make sure all boats are in compliance with state and local regulations, and that all users of the lakes are property owners and/or their registered guests.
