Highlights of Lake Chanute in Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Highlights of Lake Chanute
in Cherokee Village, Arkansas
Cherokee Village, Arkansas has seven private lakes that offer plenty of outdoor recreation.
One of the seven is Lake Chanute. The highlights of this lake are:
* 65 acres
* 2.273 miles of shoreline
* Maximum depth unknown
* Fishing, swimming, no-wake boating, and canoeing allowed
Lake Chanute is a very quiet and picturesque lake in Cherokee Village. It can be seen as you drive by on Cherokee Road. The lake is on the Fulton County side of Cherokee Village. Lake Chanute has very good fishing and is very close to the south golf course.
Lake Chanute has an easy to use boat ramp. There is never alot of boat traffic on the lake, therefore it is a favorite place to fish by boat or right off the shore. From the boat ramp, there is a path that takes you to a cove that is popular with local fishermen.
Lake Chanute is no-wake lake and just a little smaller than Lake Sequoyah, yet it is large enough for relaxing pontoon boat rides around the lake. Swimming and floating in Lake Chanute is a favorite summer past-time.
